Indications (Approved Uses): Indicated for the topical clinical management of superficial fungal skin infections including tinea pedis (athlete's foot), tinea cruris (jock itch), tinea corporis (ringworm), pityriasis versicolor (tinea versicolor), and erythrasma. It is also clinically utilised for the treatment of fungal otitis externa (outer ear infections secondary to fungal proliferation).

Contraindications (Safety Warnings): Contraindicated in individuals with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to clotrimazole, other imidazole-class antifungal agents, or any of the constituent structural liquid excipients within the solution matrix. It must absolutely not be utilised for ophthalmic (eye) applications. Caution is advised when applying to extensive areas of broken, severely lacerated, or acutely inflamed cutaneous tissue to avoid accidental systemic exposure.

Side Effects (Adverse Reactions): Generally exceptional in its safety profile with minimal systemic bio-availability. Localised cutaneous hypersensitivity or contact dermatitis reactions may occur at the site of application, presenting as transient stinging, burning sensations, erythema (redness), pruritus (itching), skin peeling, localised oedema, mild blistering, or general dermal irritation.

Active / Nutritional Information: This topical antifungal preparation contains the active drug ingredient Clotrimazole at a standard concentration of 1% w/v (equivalent to 10mg of micronised clotrimazole per millilitre of fluid), uniformly dissolved within a clear, volatile liquid vehicle base composed of polyethylene glycol (macrogol 400) and propan-2-ol excipients.

Instructions for Use / Dosage: For topical or otic administration. For cutaneous infections, adults and paediatric populations should apply a few drops of the solution thinly and evenly to the thoroughly cleansed and dried affected areas two to three times daily, rubbing it in gently. For fungal ear infections, instill two to three drops of the fluid directly into the affected ear canal two to three times daily. To ensure complete mycological eradication and prevent secondary relapse, clinical treatment should persist for at least two weeks beyond the absolute resolution of all visible physical symptoms.
