Product Name & Strength: Reptogel Mosquito Repellent Gel, Diethyltoluamide U.S.P. 15%, 25 g.
Indications (Approved Uses): Indicated to provide an effective barrier against biting insects, including mosquitoes that are known vectors of malaria, dengue, and chikungunya. The gel formulation creates a protective layer that masks the human scent, deterring mosquitoes from landing and biting, and offers up to six hours of long-lasting protection.
Contraindications (Safety Warnings): Contraindicated in individuals with a known allergy or hypersensitivity to the active repellent ingredient or any other components. It must not be applied to cuts, wounds, broken skin, irritated skin, rashes, or sunburn. It is strictly for external use only and must not be ingested. Avoid sensitive areas; do not apply to the eyes, lips, inside the nose, or mouth.
Side Effects (Adverse Reactions): Common, mild side effects may include temporary skin irritation, redness, or a faint chemical odour. Serious but rare side effects that require immediate medical attention include signs of a severe allergic reaction (such as a rash, hives, or significant swelling of the face or throat) or chemical sensitivity (such as blistering or a severe burning sensation). If severe symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately.
Nutritional Information (per application): Diethyltoluamide U.S.P. 15%.
Instructions for Use / Dosage: For topical administration. Safe for adults and children over 2 years old. Squeeze a small amount of gel onto the palm, rub your hands together, and spread a thin layer evenly over all exposed skin. Reapply after approximately 4 to 8 hours, or immediately after swimming, towelling, or excessive sweating. Apply to the face sparingly, avoiding the immediate eye and mouth areas. When applying to children, apply the gel to your own hands first and then rub onto the child's exposed skin; do not apply directly to a child's hands or fingers. Wash the treated skin with soap and water once you are indoors and no longer need protection. If using sunscreen, apply the sunscreen first, allow it to absorb fully, and then apply the repellent on top.
