Exiplon Cough Syrup For Children, 100ml

Product Name & Strength: Exiplon Cough Syrup for Children, Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride 7 mg/5 mL, Sodium Citrate 28.5 mg/5 mL (100 mL).

Indications (Approved Uses): Indicated for the relief of coughs and nasal congestion in children aged up to 12 years and below.

Contraindications (Safety Warnings): Contraindicated in children with a known hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients. This product may potentiate the effects of alcohol, codeine, antihistamines, and other central nervous system depressants. Due to its anticholinergic activity, it may also potentiate the effects of psychotropic drugs and atropine, which can result in tachycardia, dry mouth, gastrointestinal disturbances, urinary retention, and headache. This medication may cause drowsiness; if affected, do not drive or operate machinery. Alcoholic drinks must be avoided during treatment. It is known to cross the placenta and is detected in breast milk; therefore, it should only be used during pregnancy or lactation if the potential benefit to the mother exceeds the possible hazard to the foetus or infant.

Side Effects (Adverse Reactions): Side effects are uncommon but may include drowsiness, dizziness, gastrointestinal disturbance, dry mouth, dry nose and throat, difficulty in urination, or blurred vision. Less frequently, it may cause palpitations, tremors, convulsions, or paraesthesia. Hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes, erythema, urticaria, and angioedema have been reported.

Instructions for Use / Dosage: For oral administration. Children less than 2 years: 2.5 mL three times daily. Children 2 to 5 years: 5 mL three times daily. Children 6 to 12 years: 10 mL three times daily.
