Product Name & Strength: Lodium Capsules, 2 mg.

Indications (Approved Uses): Indicated for the symptomatic control of acute and chronic diarrhoea. It is used to reduce the frequency and consistency of loose stools.

Contraindications (Safety Warnings): Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to loperamide or any of the excipients. It must not be used in conditions where inhibition of peristalsis is to be avoided, such as ileus, abdominal distension, or constipation. Contraindicated in patients with acute dysentery (characterised by blood in stools and high fever), acute ulcerative colitis, or bacterial enterocolitis caused by invasive organisms. Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment.

Side Effects (Adverse Reactions): Common side effects include constipation, nausea, flatulence, headache, and dizziness. Rare or serious side effects may include abdominal pain, abdominal distension, dry mouth, vomiting, fatigue, hypersensitivity reactions (including rash, urticaria, or angioedema), toxic megacolon, and paralytic ileus.

Nutritional Information (per Capsule): Loperamide Hydrochloride 2 mg, Starch 150 mg.

Instructions for Use / Dosage: For oral administration. Adults: Take 2 capsules initially, followed by 1 capsule after each loose stool. Do not exceed 8 capsules in 24 hours. Not suitable for children under 2 years of age.
